New Year Celebrations

The New Year celebrates the end of one year and the beginning of the upcoming year. The occasion is especially celebrated by the cultures that measure yearly calendars. The day is celebrated on 1st January. But the day celebrated as New Year's Day in modern America was not always January 1.During the Middle Ages, the Church remained opposed to celebrating New Years as they considered it paganism. January 1 has been celebrated as a holiday by Western nations for only about the past 400 years.
