Best Actress Award

Miss World - 1994, Ash (Aishwarya Rai) has bagged the Best Actress award for her stunning performance in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The Chaal-Baaz girl Sridevi presented this award.
Best Director Award
Sanjay Leela Bhansali picks up the Best Director award for his amazing direction in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Chotta Bachhan (Abhishek) & Kareena Kapoor presented this award.

Best Film Award

This year's Best Film award was presented to the young and talented Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Lolo, apni Karisma honoured sanjay with this award.

John Mathew Matthan's Sarfarosh has won the Best Film Award in the Critic award category. The legendaries, Yash Chopra and Ramesh Sippy presented this award.

Chi-Chi Wins the Best Comedian Award for his hilarious performance in Haseena Maan Jayegi. The award was presented to Govinda by Femina Miss India - World, Priyanka Chopra and Sharad Kapoor.
Best Supporting Actress Award
Miss Universe - 1994, Sushmita Sen won the Best Supporting Actress award for Biwi No.1. The award was presented by the Macho Mischief Guy - Sunil Shetty.

Best Supporting Actor Award

Anil Kapoor has won the Best Supporting Actor award for Taal. This award was presented by the all-in-one Rakesh Roshan.
Best Negative Role Award
Best Negative Role award goes to Ashutosh Rana for Sangharsh. Yesteryears baddies Ranjeet and Prem Chopra honoured him with this award.

Choreography Award

Once again Saroj Khan bags the Best Choreography award. This time for 'Nimbooda - Nimbooda'. The award was presented by M F Hussain and Nagma

Best Female Playback Singer Award

Alka Yagnik wins the Best Female Playback Singer award for 'Taal se Taal Mila..' from Taal. The award was presented by Chunkey Pandey and Anu Malik.
Best Male Playback Singer Award
Udit Narayan wins the Best Male Playback Singer award for 'Chand Chupa..' from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Udit received the award from Madhoo and Isha.

Best Lyricist Award

Anand Bakshi bags the Best Lyricist award for 'Ishq Bina..' from Taal. The award was presented by Shilpa Shetty.
Best Music Director Award
Best Music Director award goes to none other than A R Rehman for TAAL. The award was presented by Smriti Mishra.

Best Debut of the Year

Rahul Khanna walks away with the Best Debut of the year award for his brilliant performance in Earth - 1947. The award was presented by the Chairman of Manikchand Group.

Star of the Millennium

Amitabh Bachhan - The Big B wins the Star of the Millennium award. The award was presented by the Top Gun - Shatrughan Sinha.

R D Burman Award

The R D Burman award goes to Ismail Darbar for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Life Time Achievement Award

The life time achivement award has been conferred on Vinod Khanna and Hema Malini. The award was presented by Dimple Kapadia and Jaya Bachhan respectively.

Technical Awards

The technical awards which was adjudged by a panel of experts from the film industry were announced two days prior to the Filmfare Awards ceremony on Sunday 13, February, 2000. The winners were as follows:
