What a Pharmacist Do ?

A pharmacist is an expert in medicines and their use. The majority of pharmacists practice in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy or in primary care pharmacy, working to ensure that patients get the maximum benefit from their medicines. They advise medical and nursing staff on the selection and appropriate use of medicines They also serve patients and the community by providing information and advice on health, providing medications and associated services, and by referring patients to other sources of help and care, such as doctors, when necessary.. Pharmacists are able to undertake additional training in order to allow them to prescribe medicines for specific conditions. Opportunities also exist for pharmacists to work in specialist fields such as the pharmaceutical industry, education and medical writing. Pharmacists are, therefore, acknowledged to be the experts in medicines.
