NIFT 2008 : Eligibility
Eligibility for Bachelor Programmes - Design
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Fashion / Leather / Accessory / Textile/
Knitwear / Communication Design)
A candidate who fulfills any of the following criteria is considered
eligible:-
- The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any
recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board
of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of
Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri
Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign
countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent
to 10+2 system.
- A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the
National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
- 3 or 4-years diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical
Education.
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production)
As above (with Physics, Chemistry & Maths at 10+2 level) or
diploma in Engineering.
Eligibility for Master Programme - Management
Master of Fashion Technology (Management)
-
A three years Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognised
by the Association of Indian Universities or Diploma inAccessory / Fashion
Design / FIT from NIFT only.

For foreign Bachelor’s Degree, not recognised by the Association of Indian
Universities, proper certification by a National Body constituted in the
country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be produced.
Eligibility for Master Programme - Technology
Master of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production)
B.E. / B.Tech. (Textiles / Apparel / Mechanical / Industrial / Production
/Electronics / Computer / Information Technology)
Eligibility for Master Programme - Design
Master of Fashion Technology (Design Space)
Full time Graduation from a recognised University in any design discipline
(Fashion / Textiles / Accessories / Graphics / Communication) or B.A. (Fine
Arts), B.Sc. (Textiles & Clothing), B.Tech (Textiles) or Design Diploma from
NIFT / NID only For foreign Bachelor’s Degree, not recognised by the
Association of Indian Universities, proper certification by a National Body
constituted in the country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be
produced.
