IIT JEE - Merit List
Screening Test
The qualifying criterion and the ranks in the Screening Test are based
on the total marks scored and there are no individual subject cut off
marks. A common list of all candidates, who qualify in the Screening Test
without any relaxed criteria will be prepared. In addition, a separate
list of qualified candidates belonging to PH, SC and ST categories will be
prepared.
Main Examination
Based on the performance in individual subjects as well as aggregate in
the Main Examination, a common merit list without any relaxed criteria
will be prepared. In addition, separate merit list of candidates belonging
to PH, SC and ST categories will be prepared. There will not be a separate
list of wait listed candidates.
Tie Breaking
Tie breaking criterion adopted for awarding the ranks for the students
who have scored the same aggregate marks is as follows. The mean marks of
each subject obtained by all candidates who have appeared in all three
subjects of the Main Examination will be calculated. A student with higher
marks in the subject with the lowest mean mark will be ranked higher. In
case two or more students score the same marks in the above mentioned
subject, then the marks of the subject with second lowest mean marks will
be used for breaking the tie. Students scoring the same marks in all the
three subjects will be given the same rank.
