INTRODUCTION

Indian Institute Of Foreign trade was set up in 1963 by the Indian Government as an autonomous organization with an aim to help the nation's foreign trade management become more professional. It now stands as one of the most prestigious b-schools of the country with international associations as well. The institute claims to have trained more than 40.000 business professionals from over 30 countries in international business and trade policy in different aspects with the help of its management development programmes


PROGRAMMES
 

  • MBA in international business- it is a six trimester general management programme that focuses on international business. The course provides a comprehensive exposure in the field of international business.
     

  • MBA (part time) is a nine trimester general management programme with a focus on international business.
     

  • Executive postgraduate diploma in international business- three semesters of about five months each
     

  • PhD programme- part time programme
     

  • The executive masters in international business - it's online programme
     

  • Also there are various certificate course.


ADMISSION
 

The admission to the MBA in international business (MBA-IB) is through a written test, essay writing, group discussion and interview.


FEES STRUCTURE

The candidate seeking admission is required to pay  for the MBA-IB Rs 2,50,000 per annum for the general category, Rs 1,25,000 per annum for SC / ST / PH and US$ 16,000 per annum for foreign / NRI / children of NRI..


INFRASTRUCTURE

The new Delhi campus of IIFT is spread over six acres of land and has hosted facilities for the students. The library is well- stocked with over 84,ooo volumes and subscriptions of around 800 journals. the campus in Kolkata, which was inaugurated in July 2006, also boasts of a state-of-the-art infrastructure. the Kolkata campus works under the same setup as Delhi centre. the other facilities include centrally air-conditioned lecture halls along with audio-visual aids, conference halls and auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 students/delegates.


PLACEMENTS

Placement figures for the class of 2008 are:-

There were 100 percent placements in 2009 in IIFT and there were 20 percent more recruiters than previous years. a total of 62 companies made the final offers to the students. Some of the companies that were a part of campus recruiters include ITC, Colgate Palmolive, Nomura Holdings, Coca Cola, M&, Bharti Airtel, Titan, Bajaj Auto, cargill, Tata Motors, Axis bank, and Vodafone among others. The highest salary offered this year was Rs 19 lakhs and the average salary was around Rs 8.09 lakhs.
