After getting JMET score, the candidate has to send the application for
MBA to VGSOM. This can also be downloaded from the site. A shortlist for
group discussion / personal interview is prepared and calls are given based
on various merit based criteria. Final calls are given out after the
discussions and interviews.
This time the placements saw a shift in the profile-mix offered by the participating companies. highest domestic CTC was Rs 14.7 lakhs per annum. The average domestic compensation was Rs 8.93 lakhs per annum, a decrease of approximately 22 percent as compared to the last year. Sixty five companies participated in the process, which included the likes of Ernst & Young, KPMG, Deutsche Bank, SBI Caps, SIDBI etc. The companies recruited for first time from VGSOM jumped up from 14 in the last placement season to 32 this year. Although the ripples of the global meltdown were felt in VGSOM, the variety of profiles offered more than made up for the decrease in the average salary. this was achieved by inviting a larger number of companies for final placements.
