Hansraj Morarji Public School is set on a 50-acre campus in Mumbai. It was founded in 1939 by the Bai Kabibai and Hansraj Morarji Trust. The foundation stone was laid by the then-Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Patel.There are 2 hostel wings, and in the main building are housed the primary school, middle school, and senior schools. Apart from the main school buildings, it includes two hostels, a dispensary, a music room, staff quarters, a library, theater, swimming pool and a science laboratory. They provide hostel accommodation and teachers quarters. There is a separate place for the tiny tots. The school has a library and a laboratory for Physics, Chemistry and Biology experiments. Recently the school has started a Junior college from 2008. The college provides Science and commerce for the students and have reserved seats for the shoolchildren passing out of 10th standard. There are two semesters, the first semester stretches from June to October and the second from November to April. The winter vacation is for three weeks duration, the Christmas of about a week while the summer vacation is for about one and half months duration.

Games like volleyball, basketball are organized by the school. The students also take part in inter school competion in various fields. The school encompasses vast play grounds for various sports and a swimming pool for recreation facilities. Special coaching is provided to students in cricket, football, badminton, athletics and gymnastics.

Extra Curricular Activities

Co-curricular and cultural activities like elocution, debate, quiz, story essay writing, calligraphy, time and talent programme, Gujarati, Hindi, English and Marathi “nights” are conducted regularly to ensure an all round development of the Students. Apart from academic subjects, work experience subjects like baking, bookbinding, art and crafts are taught. Hobbies conducted on weekends include art, music, carpentry, flower making, dramatics, Literary Club, Rifle Club, Hiking and Trekking Club, Science and Reading Club, flute, gymnastics and philately.


The new session commences from the month of June and admission are conducted in the month of April. Admission is open to all boys subject to age limit which is from 5 to 14 years. Day boarders are admitted to the First Standard on the basis of a test conducted by the school followed by an interview.
