Dancing butterfly

Dancing Dutterflies

It's a treat for your child to catch even a glimpse of a butterfly, and with this dancing butterfly, your child will have a feel of these creatures dancing around.

Materials:
Paper.
Scissors.
Coloured translucent plastic covers or KG cardboard of different colours.
Glitter and paint.
Glue.
Twine or nylon thread.
Plastic coated wire.

STEP 1: Draw a butterfly wing on paper and cut it out. Use it as a template. Trace around it and cut out the shape on folded cardboard or a plastic sheet. Unfolded, the cutout will be a whole butterfly. Use this method to make seven more.
STEP 2: Cut small circles of various colors and glue two onto each wing. You could also decorate the wings with glitter and paint.
STEP 3: Cut the black KG cardboard in the shape of Y (for the body and curly antennae). Stick it up to the centerfold of the butterfly's wings.
STEP 4: Tie a length of twine or a nylon thread to the center of each butterfly, with a knot underneath.
STEP 5: Finally, shape the plastic coated wire into a figure 8, with a loop on top, and tie on the butterflies so that they hang at different lengths.
