Saving Tips For Christmas Spending / Shopping....
(How to save money? - Christmas Shopping)
# You would probably be surprised at some of the things that you can pick up
cheaply, that would make great gifts. You could try looking in your local pound
shop ? of course a lot of the stuff they sell is tat, but you can pick up some
suitable things ? candles, tubs of sweets, craft stuff for kids ? the younger
ones especially wont notice if it has ?Poundland? stamped all over it! There is
also Ebay, charity shops and car boots sales to consider ? you can get things
that are just as good as new for a reasonable price. If you wanted to give a
book as a present, you could also try Amazon marketplace.
Amongst your friends you may want to consider doing a ?Secret Santa?. This is
where instead of buying a gift for everyone, you put names into a hat, everyone
picks one name out and only buys a gift for that person.
# Start by making a list of everyone you plan to buy a gift for and figure out how much you can spend on each gift. Remember to save money for wrapping paper and bows and other holiday expenses. If your budget is looking a little slim you may want to think about making gifts.
10 Ways to Save Energy and Resources Before
You Leave for the Christmas Holiday
1. Make sure you turn off your PC and monitor at the socket before you
leave the office. A PC left on over the holiday will use enough energy to
produce 13kg of CO2 ? equivalent to 3 inflatable garden Santas!
2. Make sure the kitchen hot water boiler is turned off. The energy
needed to keep a water tank just under boiling point for hot drinks during the
break could be using enough energy to emit 240kg (123m3) of CO2.
3. Switch off your office light, desk lamp, display lights and any decorative
lights as you leave. This is good practice and can save 33kWh of wasted
energy ? especially if ceiling and desk lamps are not compact fluorescent lamps
- as well as removing a potential fire hazard in the form of decorative lights.

Beat the egg white in a large bowl and set aside. In a saucepan, boil
the sugar, water and syrup while stirring gently. The mixture is done at
235 degrees or if it forms a soft ball when a tablespoon full is dropped

continually. Add vanilla, nuts and a pinch of salt. Add a few drops of red
or green food coloring if desired. Beat this mixture until it is almost
hard, then drop by the teaspoonful onto waxed paper.

1) The Santa Clause
One of my family's favorite because it is so funny. Tim Allen is great in
this Walt Disney picture.
2) Home Alone
Now a Christmas classic (as far as my family is concerned). This movie is
about an adventurous boy and his antics when he is mistaken left home
alone at Christmas time.
3) A Christmas Story
It's not Christmas time officially until you hear Raphie's mom say,
"You'll shoot your eye out". This is a must-have dvd for your family's
video collection.
4) A Christmas Carol (Colorized Version)
A timeless classic story that is a must-have for your video collection.
You usually can catch this on television but it is important to have ready
to watch when you have time with the kids because it teaches such
important lessons.
5) Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The 1966 original of the classic on DVD. If you liked it when you were a
kid, your kids should see it too.

What is Christmas?
The word Christmas comes from the words Cristes maesse, or "Christ's Mass." Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus for members of the Christian religion. Most historians peg the first celebration of Christmas to Rome in 336 A.D.
Christmas is both a holiday and a holy day. In America it is one of the biggest event of the year (especially for kids), and for members of the Christian religions it is an important day on the religious calendar.
