Immersion of Lord Ganesha's Idol

The ten days long festival ends with Ganesha-Visarjan which means immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha. This implies that the idols are immersed in the holy rivers. Also, the chariots in which the idols are placed and taken to the rivers are decorated very beautifully and lightings are a major attraction. During the immersion process, devotees sing loudly to bid bye and see you again next year.
