What are Warts ?


A wart is generally a small, rough tumor which occurs on hands and feet. Warts are caused due to a viral infection, specifically by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are contagious when in contact with the skin of another. Virus causing warts can transfer from patients by sharing objects, towels etc. The warts dissapear within a few months in usual circumstances however it can also last for years and can reoccur. More common in kids than in adults, warts are skin infections caused by viruses of the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. Warts are usually painless unless they’re on the soles of the feet or another part of the body that gets bumped or touched all the time.
