Remedies For Bird Flu

Friday, October 28th, 2011

I regard natural antiviral remedies as more effective than pharmaceutical ones. An added bonus is that natural remedies are basically free of side-effects, and they are non-specific, meaning that they are effective against all viruses as well as against bacteria and fungi.

Most natural antivirals are antioxidants. Usually a cocktail of strong antioxidants is used in high concentrations. These include the vitamins A, C, D and E, alpha lipoic acid, and extracts of grapefruit seed and olive leaf. Supportive minerals are magnesium, selenium and zinc. Colloidal silver, hydrogen peroxide, garlic, and a range of herbs and essential oils may be used in addition. Different quantities and combinations of these may be used at different stages of infection alert or an actual infection.

During a general infection alert you may take the following with each meal or three times daily:

* Half a tsp of sodium ascorbate (or other form of vitamin C)
* 1 halibut liver oil capsule
* 250 mg of natural vitamin E
* 15 mg of zinc
* 100 mg of alpha lipoic acid
* 100  200 mg of magnesium
* 200 mcg of selenium only once a day
* fresh garlic with most meals (squashing under lemon juice reduces odour)

5.Kakamachi is syrup like product that can be consumed as a soothing, cooling drink that can expel negative toxins such as those that build up during an attack of dengue from the digestive system and ultimately purify it. A cup twice daily is the recommended dosage.

6. Fruits rich in vitamin C like amla (embellica officinalis) are advised as vitamin C helps in better absorption of iron.

7.Chyavanprash can be taken as it is an immunobooster, blood purifier and increases blood count.

8.Hogweed is used to bring down temperatures. Hogweed produces plenty of perspiration which flushes the toxins and brings the fever down.

9.The seeds of hermal are powdered and taken as either an infusion or as a decoctin to treat intermittent and recurrent fevers that are observed in dengue.

10.Boiled tulsi that is basil leaves served in a warm drink like tea can help prevent an outbreak of dengue. This bitter and pungent herb has all the properties that strengthen the internal system against fever.

11.10-15 basil leaves should be chewed twice a day or these can be boiled in 200ml water on low heat. When half the quantity is left it can be taken 2-3 times a day. This strengthens the body’s defence mechanism.

13.Papaya juice is a natural cure for dengue fever. The juice of Papaya leaf is a sure cure for platellete deficiency.

14.Two raw papaya leaves are pounded, and they are squeezed with a cloth to strain and filter the juice. Usually, one leaf gives one tablespoonful of juice and two tablespoonfuls of p-juice is sufficient for a day. To preserve its strength, the juice should be taken raw, without altering, boiling or any additions. No saps nor stems of the papaya leaf should be included-only the leaf should be crushed. The powerful ‘Papain’ enzyme in the papaya leaf has the ability to dissolve proteins and is already used for indigestion and stomach inflammation while another enzyme from the papaya leaf, ‘Chymopapain’ is used successfully in spinal treatment.

15.Use Tulasi leaf ten pieces and one black pepper. This should be the proportion. Grind it and make pea size pills, use it with water.

Precaution before using any cosmetics to avoid allergies

Monday, October 24th, 2011

Applying too much cosmetics to your skin and using several new products simultaneously can be one reason of cosmetic allergy.

Using used or dirty brushes or applicators also cause skin allergies. Avoid trying new makeup products with a brush or applicator still “dirty” from use with other products. For best results, frequently used applicators and brushes should be cleaned no less than 2-4 times per month. Thus always clean and dry cosmetic applicators before using them for any new products. If not taken care then you might suffer from “cosmetic acne”, including blackheads, whiteheads and mild irritation.

Also check out each cosmetic product before using them because they might be adulterated and contaminated causing skin allergies.

Use proper brush for the particular product that you use because using wrong brush also causes skin irritation. For most makeup, use natural-hair brushes for easiest and best application. With cream-based formulas, however, best results will come from using synthetic or nylon-hair brushes because synthetic brushes hold less of the product, enabling more controlled application.

Take the following precautions

If you have sensitive skin then always test the product on your skin before using it.

Wash hands before applying cosmetics, especially to your eyes because your hands contain bacteria that could cause infection to the eye.

Always keep a check on the expiry dates of the cosmetics you are using and throw the cosmetics that have expired.

Causes Of Ulcer

Causes of ulcers on tongue are varied. These include the consumption of food items which are too hot for your tongue to handle. Coffee and tea are beverages that are usually taken hot and can be dangerous for your tongue. Ulcers on tongue are also caused by tongue damage or trauma due to spicy foods or foods that are too hot. In some cases, having a stomach or peptic ulcer can also result in having tongue ulcers. The abuse of cigarettes and excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages can also cause ulcers on tongue.

The symptoms of ulcers on tongue are usually a burning sensation in particular areas of the tongue sometimes concentrating on the area that has been traumatized or damaged. In some cases of ulcers on tongue, bud like growths or protuberances can be felt on the tongue approximately two to three days before the ulcer develops. The tongue will also feel a bit sore when you talk and eat so there will be some loss of appetite due to the pain or discomfort of the ulcers.

Get Rid Off Acne

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Wash your face twice a day (no more) with warm water and a mild soap made for people with acne. Gently massage your face with circular motions. Don’t scrub. Overwashing and scrubbing can cause skin to become irritated. After cleansing, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends applying an over-the-counter (no prescription needed) lotion containing benzoyl peroxide. This will decrease oil and bacteria.

Don’t pop pimples. It’s tempting, but here’s why you shouldn’t: Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin, leading to more swelling and redness, and even scarring. If you notice a pimple coming before a big event, like the prom, a dermatologist can often treat it for you with less risk of scarring or infection.

Avoid touching your face with your fingers or leaning your face on objects that collect sebum and skin residue like your phone. Touching your face can spread the bacteria that cause pores to become inflamed and irritated. To keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands before applying anything to your face, such as treatment creams or makeup.

If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose.

If you get acne on your body, try not to wear tight clothes. They don’t allow skin to breathe and may cause irritation. Scarves, headbands, and caps can collect dirt and oil, too.
Remove your makeup before you go to sleep. When buying makeup, make sure you choose brands that say “noncomedogenic” or “nonacnegenic” on the label. Throw away old makeup that smells or looks different from when you first bought it.

Keep hair clean and out of your face to prevent additional dirt and oil from clogging your pores.
Protect your skin from the sun. It may seem like a tan masks acne, but it’s only temporary. A tan can cause the body to produce extra sebum, which may worsen your acne, not improve it. Tanning also causes damage to skin that will eventually lead to wrinkles and increase your risk of skin cancer.

How to Get rid off dark lips

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

You can use your toothbrush simply to exfoliate the dead skin cells off your lips. But remember to use them gently to avoid hurting your delicate lips. Apply a thin coat of a good lip balm after this. Incase your lips are chapped too, then stick to the same remedy, but with the toothbrush coated with Vaseline this time.

Massage your lips gently with a good lip balm every night. Also make sure that you drink at least eight glasses of water every day. During daytime, use lip balm with at SPF 15 or higher to protect them against glaring sun rays. Follow this routine religiously every day.

Try using concealer on your dark lips before wearing your favorite lipstick. For better outcome, use a lip liner to outline your lips and then fill them up with lipstick or lip gloss. Always go for best brands as far as cosmetics are concerned.

Incase you have noticed that your lips have started to turn dark after you have begun using a lip balm or lipstick from a mediocre brand, discontinue use immediately. Consult a dermatologist for repairing the damage undergone.

How To make lipstick stay longer

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Finish applying makeup all over the face before starting off with your lipstick. This is as good as the basic and most important rule of applying lipstick that lasts. Applying lipstick before you’re done with the rest of your face may cause the lipstick to smudge or look untidy. This is exactly why most women apply lipstick only after they’re done with the rest of the face. Some women even apply lipstick right before they step out. This is done to show off lips that look as fresh as flowers.

Zero in on a lipstick color or shade of lipstick that complements your overall look and skin tone. Basically, use a lipstick that goes well with your makeup and the color of your skin. Choosing a lipstick shade that complements the natural color of your lips is the way to go. Satin and glossy finish lipsticks are best for glamorous evenings or night outs. Matte lipsticks give you that muted finish to throw filtered rays of light on your workday or regular makeup.

The best way to have your lipstick last for long is by treating your lips with moisture. Start off the process by applying a small amount of petroleum jelly or lip balm. This helps give your lips much needed moisture and will also help lipstick last longer.

You will need a lip liner for this step. Take the lip liner and draw a thin line around the edge of your lips. The line should be only one shade darker than your lipstick. Any darker and your lips will literally look like they have been drawn onto your face. Start at the centre of the upper lip and draw away from the starting point. Focus more within the edges of the lips to stress less on thicker lips and focus more on the outer edges to highlight thinner lips. Subtlety and a steady hand is what are important here.
Proceed to apply your chosen shade of lipstick from the tube. You can also use a small and effective lipstick brush. Apply the lipstick within the outlines of your lips. Make sure that you apply the lipstick evenly and try not to stray away from the edges of your lips. You will need a steady hand for this step too.

If at all there is any excess color on your lips, you can always blot out the same to get to a look of perfection.

Remedies For Dengue Fever

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

No specific treatment for dengue fever exists.

If you have a mild form of the disease, your doctor will recommend making sure to drink enough fluids to avoid dehydration from vomiting and high fever. You can also take acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) for pain and fever. Avoid aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) and naproxen sodium (Aleve). These can increase the risk of bleeding complications.

If you have a more severe form of the disease, treatment consists of supportive care in a hospital. Such care includes intravenous fluids and electrolyte replacement, maintaining adequate blood pressure and replacing blood loss.
If you have any form of dengue fever, you may also be kept away from mosquitoes, to avoid transmitting the disease to others.

No dengue fever vaccine exists. If you are living or traveling in an area where dengue fever is known to be, the best way to avoid dengue fever is to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes that carry the disease.

To reduce your exposure to mosquitoes:

* Avoid unnecessary outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most prevalent, such as at dawn, dusk and early evening.
* Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks and shoes when you go into mosquito-infested areas.
* Stay in air-conditioned or well-screened housing. Patch screens if necessary, especially where there will be night-time exposure.
* Use bed netting if available.
* Apply permethrin-containi ng mosquito repellent to your clothing, shoes, and camping gear and bed netting. You can also buy clothing made with permethrin already in it. Use repellent with a 10 percent to 30 percent concentration of DEET to your skin. Choose the concentration based on the hours of protection you need — a 10 percent concentration of DEET is effective for about two hours, whereas higher concentrations last longer. Keep in mind that chemical repellants can be toxic, and use only the amount needed for the time you’ll be outdoors. Don’t use DEET on the hands of young children or on infants under 2 months of age. Instead, cover your infant’s stroller or playpen with mosquito netting when outside. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, oil of lemon eucalyptus, a more natural product, offers the same protection as DEET when used in similar concentrations.
