Ayurveda Treatment To Get Rid Of Hair Loss

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

• Always use a natural shampoo or soap to clean the hair. As most soaps and shampoos have chemicals, they might be the cause of your problem. Usually the chemicals have a heating effect, and increase Pitta locally. Amala (embilica officinalis), Shikakai (Acacia concinna) are very commonly used in India for washing the hair.

• Oiling and massaging of scalp is very beneficial for stopping the hair loss. Use coconut oil or mustard oil at least three times in a week. Certain medicated oils like ‘Mahabhringraj oil’, ‘Amala oil’, and ‘Arnica oil’ are very useful. Put oil on the scalp, and massage gently in the roots of the hair.

• Rub your scalp vigorously after washing the hair. It increases the blood circulation, and activates the sebaceous glands. Take the oil that contains vitamin E. Vitamin E prevents the hair fall and reduces the brittleness of hair and also cure the dry and flaky skin.

• Daily application of coconut oil mixed with lime juice on the hair is also beneficial. Applying juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also good.

• Washing the hair with a paste of cooked Urad dal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) 2-3 times a week, is also good.

• A paste of licorice made by grinding it in milk can be applied in the bald patches. It induces hair growth. A paste of seeds of lemon and black pepper may also be applied on the bald patches.

Eyebrows Waxing

Monday, November 14th, 2011

Eyebrows Waxing

You have to be very careful while shaping eyebrows by waxing method since it is a very sensitive area. Waxing is a quick and relatively easy alternative to plucking your eyebrows. Although it is generally best to get eyebrows waxed professionally it can be expensive – up to around $15 as a general rule, although salons do differ. If you have a tighter budget, or if you are feeling fairly brave.

Here are some simple steps for you to try at home..

First the lower section of eyebrow, then the upper area and finally the centre of the eyebrow’s hair are removed.

Very little wax is applied at the time and a small strip is placed on the wax and pulled against or even in the direction of the hair growth.

You don’t need to use much, and you should not let the wax dry.

Never wax above the eyebrow, only ever shape from below. Waxing from under the brow will widen your eyes and help to get the line even.

Gently hold the skin taut and pull off the waxing strip.

Clean eyebrow area with cotton pad soaked in an antiseptic lotion after the eyebrows are shaped.
Massage the eye skin with cream.

To give the gorgeous new eyebrow shape emphasis, use an eyebrow pencil or tinted brow shadow to subtly fill in any gaps, and even out the natural color tone.

Remedies For Mumps

Causes For Mumps

Like measles, mumps is caused by a paramyxovirus which is easily spread from person to person through saliva droplets. These droplets can be breathed in after an infected individual sneezes coughs, yawns or the saliva can be transferred to objects such as eating utensils or cups.

Because mumps is as contagious as the flu, it is important to stay in bed and avoid contact with others to prevent the spreading of the disease. People with mumps are usually most contagious from 2 days before symptoms begin until 6 days after they end.

Treatment

Because mumps is caused by a virus, it cannot be treated with antibiotics, and so the best treatment is a combination of bed rest, symptom relief and naturally boosting the immune system as it is this that will eventually fight off the virus. Parents should monitor their child’s fever and watch out for any complications that may develop.

Your doctor may recommend some over-the-counter medications to help relieve symptoms such as high fever or sore throat, however it is always advisable to research all side-effects and precautions of any synthetic medications as many come with side-effects. Aspirin in particular should not be given to children during a viral infection as complications such as Reye Syndrome have been documented.

Natural Herbal and Homeopathic Remedies related to Mumps

Mumps is one of those illnesses you have to let run its course. Eventually your immune system System” will nurse your body back to health. While there is little your doctor can do to help, there are natural ways to boost the immune system thus encouraging faster recovery and fewer complications.

Herbal and homeopathic remedies have long been known for their immune boosting qualities and herbal ingredients such as Echinacea purpurea, Astragalus membranaceous, Inula helenium and Withania somnifera, can naturally support the body’s own defense mechanisms.

These herbs are thus commonly used to strengthen and assist the immune system to promote faster recovery and are well known for their antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties, making Mother Nature the best nurturing force to restore the body’s natural balance and health.

Face care For Men

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

In earlier times, men never used to worry about their skin or think twice about their appearance. But with changing times, even men have become aware about how they look and what they can do to look better. Men to face skin problems like acne, blemishes, scars, age spots, wrinkles and fine lines. Men want to attract the opposite sex and they don’t want to get neglected due to these skin problems. Skin problems have solutions and even men are interested in taking that extra effort to take care of their skin. Skin care for men is unknown to many and that is why they follow the wrong skincare routines.

Like women, men also should first find what is their skin type. Many men rush to the cosmetic selling shops and grab whatever creams and products they think are good for them without even knowing what is their skin type and what kind of products will suit there skin and what will not. There are various skin types like normal, oily, dry, combination and sensitive. It can be little difficult for men to know their exact skin type as compared to the women. The skin care for men depends upon their skin type.

If your skin has small pores and look even all throughout then do doubt that your skin type is normal. If your face looks greasy and you have acne, blemishes, blackheads and whiteheads then your skin type is oily. If your skin feels to dry and you feel it very tight, especially during winters then your skin type is dry. If your skin gets rashes more than often due to using soaps, perfumes, sun, shaving creams, etc., then your skin type is sensitive. For those men who have combination skin, some part of the face will be greasy and some will be too dry. The skin care for men can be wisely planned out once the actual skin type is known.

In skin care for men after finding out what is your actual skin type, you can buy those beauty products that are manufactured for your skin type. Along with applying these skin care products, you should also take care of your skin by following a daily skin care program. Wash your face two times in a day with the help of a good facial cleanser. This facial cleansing will remove the dirt from your face and allow the skin ores to breath properly. It will also clear your face from pollutants and sweat. In case you are not okay with the cleansers, then you can also use herbal soaps for cleaning your face.

After washing your face with herbal soap, apply a good toner that is suitable for your skin type. You can either buy alcohol containing toners or the non-alcohol containing toners. After applying the toner, next step is to apply moisturizer. Select the moisturizer that has sunscreen lotion included in it. This will be time saving as you will not have to apply a separate sunscreen lotion. In short the skin care for men is not much different from the skin care for women.

Remedies For Prevention From Breast Cancer

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

The most important risk factors for the development of breast cancer cannot be controlled by the individual. There are some risk factors that are associated with an increased risk, but there is not a clear cause and effect relationship. In no way can strong recommendations be made like the cause and effect relationship seen with tobacco and lung cancer. There are a few risk factors that may be modified by a woman that potentially could influence the development of breast cancer.

If possible, a woman should avoid long-term hormone replacement therapy, have children before age 30, breastfeed, avoid weight gain through exercise and proper diet, and limit alcohol consumption to 1 drink a day or less. For women already at a high risk, their risk of developing breast cancer can be reduced by about 50% by taking a drug called Tamoxifen for five years. Tamoxifen has some common side effects (like hot flashes and vaginal discharge), which are not serious and some uncommon side effects (like blood clots, pulmonary embolus, stroke, and uterine cancer) which are life threatening. Tamoxifen isn’t widely used for prevention, but may be useful in some cases.

There are limited data suggesting that vitamin A may protect against breast cancer but further research is needed before it can be recommended for prevention. Other things being investigated include phytoestrogens (naturally occurring estrogens that are in high numbers in soy), vitamin E, vitamin C, and other drugs. Further testing of these substances is also needed before they can be recommended for breast cancer prevention. Right now, the most important thing any woman can do to decrease her risk of dying from breast cancer is to have regular mammogram screening, learn how to perform breast self exams, and have a regular physical examination by their physician.
