Homeopathic Sleep Remedies

Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

Most people with insomnia have difficulty either falling asleep, known as sleep onset insomnia, or staying asleep, known as sleep maintenance insomnia. If you have insomnia, you may also have trouble functioning during the day. For example, you might feel irritable or short-tempered or have an overall bad mood. Other impairments may include feeling sluggish, being fatigued or tired, and having decreased attention and concentration. What’s worse, even though you may feel tired during the day, you probably can’t sleep well at night or take a nap when you feel like you really need it.
The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the sign and symptoms from which a patient is suffering.
The aim of homeopathy is not only to treat sleeplessness, but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility of the patient. For this, the patient’s current symptoms, past medical history and family history are taken into account. There are many homeopathic remedies which cover the symptoms of insomnia and can be selected on the basis of presenting symptoms, their cause and the individual characteristics of the patient. For individualized remedy selection and treatment of sleep related problems, the patient should consult a qualified homeopathic doctor in person.
