Apple pulp obtained from 1 1/2Kg apples after peeling & grating - 1Kg
Sugar - 500 to 700 gms (depending on the sweetness of the fruit)
Salt - 3-4Tsp
Black pepper powder - 3-4Tsp freshly ground.
Garam masala or dalchini (cinnamon) powder - 2tsp
Acetic Acid - 2Tsp
Sodium Benzoate - 1/4Tsp
Peel and grate the apples. Weigh to get 1Kg pulp.
Add sugar and cook till it thickens.
Add salt, pepper and either garam masala or cinnamon powder, according to your taste.
Add acetic acid.
Dissolve sodium benzoate in 1tsp hot water and mix the chutney.
Fill warm in sterilized jars. Cover with the lid when the chutney cools.
