Libra is the seventh Sign of the
Zodiac, and it is at this point in the Zodiac that we start to see a
shift. While the first six Signs of the Zodiac focus on the individual,
the last six focus on the individual's contact with others and with the
world. Librans are first and foremost focused on others and how they
relate to them. ! For a Libran, everything is better if it's done as a
pair. Librans are good when paired up, too, since they epitomize
balance, harmony and a sense of fair play. While they are true team
players at work, their favorite partnership is at home: marriage.
Librans feel most complete when they are coupled up with their lover,
forever.
Perhaps more than with any of the
other signs of the Zodiac, the symbol for this sign — the balance — sums
up very accurately the basic motivation and needs of the individual who
has it emphasized in his or her birth-chart. Balance and harmony are
crucial if Libra is going to function at all well, and it is the vital
factor if they are going to live a fulfilled and satisfying life.
Librans are desperate for the approval
of others, and they may find themselves constantly trying to please
friends and colleagues. When working with others, they demand that
others put in as much effort as they do, and if this does not happen,
Librans slack off too. They are willing to work selflessly for others,
but they must guard against being used.
When Librans’ argue, they leave
nothing unsaid, regardless of the consequences of their words. On the
other hand, when others fight, they are always called upon as the
mediator. They have a strong sense of right and wrong, and are a natural
peacemaker.
Librans crave new knowledge, and have
a particular interest in matters concerning other people and society as
a whole. Relationships are very important to them, but they may find
themselves looking for new experiences here, too. This could lead to a
bit of sexual experimentation on their part, which in turn might lead to
unfaithfulness.
A peaceful existence is also an
important priority and the theme of "anything for a quiet life" is a
recurring one. Interestingly, however, Librans need a great deal of
reassurance that they are being loved, and it is not uncommon for them
to go in for "rocking the boat" tactics to get that particular
reassurance. They will sometimes aggravate their partners pand rovoke a
row — because it is so nice when they make up afterwards. They may not
care to admit that this happens, but it does, and it is all part of
Libra's interesting but not uncomplicated set-up. But it is keeping the
peace that they care most about, and this leads us to consider the
possibility of their inherent indecisiveness.
Librans’ are however surprisingly
strong-willed. They set out to accomplish their chosen goals and will
find ways to succeed one way or another, usually by using their wit and
charm. Emotional, physical, and psychological pleasure comes to them
from beauty in all its forms. Books, music, flower, and perfumes are
typical delights. If their environment is less than pleasing, they can
become unhappy without even realizing that the surroundings may be
responsible for their despondency. Social grace begins with good
manners, extends to high level diplomacy, and ends with abhorrence of
disagreeable confrontations. They promote peace and harmony, and usually
opt to bypass hostile confrontations whenever some other method can be
