The Thumb

The Thumb is said to be the controlling power of the palm. The other fingers are placed in harmony with the thumb on the palm and the thumb is indicative of being a ruler. The thumb will show a personís drive and how they apply that. The more ordinary the thumb the more ordinary the person.

A thumb is divided into two sections. The top, or the part, which continues up to the nail, is the first part showing willpower. The bottom, which extends to the Mount of Venus, shows just how much a person will be insistent in oneís life for getting what he wants. Large thumbs show a strong personality.

Small thumbs show the person is gentler. Long, broad thumbs belong to people who push hard and succeed. The shape of the thumb's tip is a strong indicator of the inner power. A pointed or conic thumb is impulsive and quick to perceive, while a square thumb is a sign of common sense.

Long, narrow thumbs belong to people who want to succeed. They have a lust for power and want enormous achievements in life. Small, broad thumbs belong to people who lack determination. Thumbs that have an exceptionally wide top belong to aggressive people. If the thumb is flat, then the person is said to be stubborn.

A bulbous tip indicates a violent temper, and a tip that bends far back shows a far-out personality, usually artistic or involved in an exotic mental pursuit. A person with a flat-tipped thumb is impatient and full of nervous energy.
